Artists On Display Laura Legg Lifestyle photographer Laura Legg has turned her passion into a successful, full time career. As a native Texan, she grew up with her father’s artistic talents as a major influence. At Auburn University, she knew that she did not want to be a starving artist and graduated with a finance degree, while she still found herself in all of the art history and photography classes she could. Finding inspiration and energy in all things art, she came to Dallas and worked in the art community in various capacities. In the Design District, as an art consultant and interiors, she couldn’t resist trying to make her way in the finance industry. While in that corporate world she strayed far from the world of creativity. Then with the birth of her two sons, she realized that art was her calling and photography was her passion. As a Lake Highlands mom she is involved in the community and family. Professionally, she now focuses on creating artistic, relaxed children’s portraits, but is always exploring more about photography and all of the new technology that provides a world of possibilities. Her view is one of exuberant color with a focus on geometry as well as the translation of the emotion of beauty into an image. This is a point in her creative career to be celebrated as it is continually evolving. Stay tuned to where her artistic inner compass leads next.
